Andy Yergler
Andy Yergler is a father of three, entrepenuer, endurance athlete, and the founder of Tri-Recovery and Resilient House. His life story is one of resilience and redemption. As a teenager, Andy struggled with cocaine addiction that ultimately led to more than four and a half years of incarceration during his late teens and early twenties. After returning home, he stayed sober through probation but had not yet found true recovery. Over time he began drinking and developed alcholism. In 2010, a humanitarian trip to Haiti became a turning point in his life. Witnessing hardship and service firsthand sparked a deep desire to live differently, be the road forward was not immediate. Over the next several years he battled addiction, relapsing more than 250 times before finally achieving lasting recovery.
Andy earned his degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2007, and in 2020 a judge formally expunged his criminal record, recognizing the transformation he had made in his life. Today he owns two small businesses and dedicates much of his life to helping others find the same hope and opportunity that changed his path. Through the founding of Tri-Recovery and Resilient House, Andy works to rebuild communities that help people rebuild their lives through accountability, structure, and purpose. As a triathlete and community leader, he believes resilience is not something people are born with- it is something that is built through perseverance, discipline, and the courage to begin again.

Doug Johnston
My journey to the Board of Directors of Resilient House began with my participation in triathlons and to Tri Recovery starting in 2014. I was overweight and out of shape, so I began a fitness routine to try to forestall a decline in my health. A long-time friend introduced me to triathlons. The training began in 2015, and I gradually increased my participation in longer events, and ultimately completed a full Ironman at the age of 64, and a second one at age 67.
Learning a whole new diet regimen, as well as a continued physical fitness plan is an ongoing challenge that requires that I maintain a positive daily mindset and attitude. That has led me down a direct path to the Resilient House.
While I have not been classified as an addict to anything, I nonetheless came to appreciate what that might entail. In my personal life, I have had a family member suffer with addiction, and so I have experience as a concerned family member.
All of the above life experiences led me to join with Andy Yergler and Craig Mickey to form Tri Recovery, Inc. as a way to encourage others to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle to
better their life, for themselves and their loved ones. Now, a few years later, Andy has taken another giant stride to help those recovering from the grip of addition. I readily signed up for the challenge of helping establish Resilient House and look forward to seeing men reset and change their lives. Together, with the combined help of many, we will succeed!
